Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors
The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) , based in U.K, is a professional association of quantity surveyors and geospatial engineers in civil engineering, and an international membership.
ICES prides itself on its achievement as an internationally renowned centre of excellence in the art and science of civil engineering surveying to serve the public and satisfy the needs of the construction industry throughout the world.
The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) began in 1969 as the Association of Surveyors in Civil Engineering and was incorporated in 1972.
In 1992, ICES became the first associated institution of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). ICES also has reciprocal membership agreements in place with the ICE.
ICES is a full member of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), which provides the international voice of the surveying profession to influence policies and professional standards.
ICES is also a member of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) who promote international knowledge sharing in the fields of quantity surveying, cost engineering and project management.
ICES supports the education and professional development of the specialist work that surveyors contribute to civil engineering projects. This varies from the monitoring and setting out of the works to the management of contracts and disputes.
